The Restoration Industry Association
A Professional Trade Organization Promoting Leadership and Ethics throughout the Restoration Industry
The Restoration Industry Association, or RIA, is one of the oldest and largest non-profit trade organizations in operation, with over 20,000 members with expertise in the restoration, textile, and environmental industries. One of the great aspects of the Restoration Industry Association is the fact that they do not require professionals to become RIA members to receive the many benefits of this organization’s research.
“As an international subscriber, keeping abreast of the latest trends and information in the restoration industry is vitally important, but a battle to find. I find the C&R (Magazine) is important reading for all in the restoration industry. Keep at it team!!”
-Ashley Easterby
The Restoration Industry Association promotes strong leadership, new research, and a strong code of ethics.
The IICRC and the RIA
The RIA aims to promote the highest standards and practices in the restoration industry, regardless of membership of allegiance. Along with the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification, the RIA increases knowledge and understanding of the industry, fuels innovation, and furthers research in the field. Because the industry does not have strict governmental regulations, these two organizations set the standards for professionalism and quality care.
The Restoration Industry Association Code of Ethics
One of the most important tasks of the RIA is to strongly advocate a strict code of ethics for their members and all businesses throughout the industry. The Restoration Industry Association code of ethics ensures the safety of companies as well as the protection of their clients. The tenants of this code are:
- Treating customers and their property with care and respect.
- Providing professional service in accordance with high standards of practice that will, when possible, restore the customer’s property to its pre-damaged or pre-soiled condition.
- Operating in a manner consistent with ethical principles and sound business practice.
- Being proficient in all work through ongoing participation in education and training.
- Providing the customer with accurate information concerning the scope of work required and its costs, maintaining strict impartiality in our professional opinions.
- Disclosing to the customer any connection one may have to their insurer or any other interested third party.
The Restoration Industry Association’s Quality Policy
RIA membership provides a whole host of different benefits to restoration industry professionals. As one of the leading organizations in the industry, the RIA has the ability to:
- Provide objective service, dedicated to achieving member satisfaction.
